What Can I Do With a DNP?
Earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Marymount University will open doors to a wide range of advanced practice and leadership roles in healthcare, including:
Chief Nursing Officer or Nurse Administrator: Lead and oversee nursing operations in healthcare organizations, such as hospitals, clinics, or healthcare systems. Develop and implement nursing policies, ensure quality patient care, and foster a positive work environment for nursing staff.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Specialize in a specific area of advanced practice nursing, such as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP). Provide expert patient care, prescribe medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
Nursing Professor: Educate and inspire the next generation of nurses by teaching in academic settings, such as universities or colleges. Develop curricula, conduct research, mentor students, and contribute to the advancement of nursing science and education.
